SJB MP Asoka Abeysinghe appears before CID

Samagi Jana Balavegaya MP Asoka Abeysinghe has appeared before the Criminal Investigation Department this morning, police spokesman confirmed.

CID has asked him to appear before them to record a statement regarding remarks he made related to Easter Sunday Attack.

Abeysinghe was accompanied to CID by group of SJB parliamentarians led by Leader of the Opposition Sajith Premadasa.

CID officials are currently recording a statement from the MP, police spokesman said.

Six SLPP MPs complained about the controversial remarks Abeysinghe made recently at a meeting and demanded an investigation. (NewsCenter)
